Parents, you have the toughest and most rewarding job on the planet – raising our next generation. Finding solutions that work specifically for your child in the moment as issues arise is hard. It’s understandable that this task would feel daunting because it is an ever-changing situation.
What are my Resources?
Having someone as a resource who can provide support through these transitions can make the difference between hours of conflict and worry or getting along. As kids get older their needs and desires change. Understanding those needs developmentally and how to guide them in the best way possible is an essential task for concerned parents. I have worked with children and their parents for 18 years and have a toolbox filled with proven solutions for issues that arise.
Transitions
There are three transitions in your teen/young adult’s life that will have a large impact on your family and your life as parents:
- beginning high school
- entering college
- returning home
I have worked with hundreds of families to navigate the turbulent waters of adolescence, young adulthood, school, homework and social development. I can help your child reframe their challenges to become positive experiences with positive outcomes. I can support you to find the best action to take during these ever-changing and transitional times:
- How to talk so your teen will listen
- Getting your teen to talk to you
- Setting boundaries for curfew and friends
- Helping guide school coursework, homework, sports, and friends
- Helping your child get into college
- Getting along with a young adult in your home
